My recommendations for using an oil burner with essential oil wax melts.

My recommendations for using an oil burner with essential oil wax melts.

When you make on a regular basis its so important not to become blinked or set in your ways. I make so many of these natural essential oil goodies, that I must admit to assuming everyone knows what to do with them. So, it was such a beautiful and kind blessing to me that these people felt they could ask this question.

I always like to remind customers and myself that when melting essential oil melts, you are entering into a natural ritual of wellbeing.

This is an opportunity to slow down, relax and be present in the moment.

So, firstly you will need an oil burner, these can be purchased from many retailers and from my own website shop. A tea light candle (I would always recommend a soy wax tea light) and one or more beautiful essential oil wax melts. Various aromas and selection can be purchased from my on line shop.

Place the tea light in the bottom of the burner, then place 1-2 wax melts in the bowl at the top of the burner. Making sure your burner is in a safe and suitable position, light the tea light candle .

Now you can relax and allow the aroma to support your wellbeing.

How does it work?

The oil burner works as a medium to conduct heat from the small tea light to the bowl above. In turn, the bowl warms, melting the essential oil wax melts and releasing the beautiful natural aroma's of the essential oils, herbs and fruit.

If using wax melts to cleanse the room, it is beneficial to start with placing the oil burner as central as possible, so that the flow of aroma is balanced. After the first initial burn, you may then decide to move the burner to a specific point.

If you are deciding to use wax melts for your wellbeing eg to help support you through stress, exam periods or meditation for example, then having the burner close to you (but in a safe area) may be the best solution.

I like to use two wax melts at once, but using one if fine also. It is down to personal taste, as to how strong you would like your aroma to be.

When the tea light has been used, the wax melt will harden again in the burners bowl. It is absolutely fine to reuse this wax the next time you put a fresh tea light into your oil burner.

Just be aware, the more times you melt the wax the less aroma will be produced.

When you want to remove the wax ready for a new melt, just make sure the wax has cooled completely and become hard.

You can then gently lift the wax from the bowl, give the bowl a little wash with gentle washing up liquid, dry it and its good to go again.

If you are using soy wax melts, like the ones I make, it is perfectly safe to throw the wax away as soy wax is deemed a natural product.

Pure essential oil wax melts

When you use a wax melt made with 100% essential oils, they contain the same healing benefits as when they are in plant form.

Compared to synthetic based scented melts, essential oil products are subtle in scent throw and offer benefits to our wellbeing and emotional moods. Essential oils are also processed by our body's olfactory bulb and limbic system. This is the same system that processes thoughts, memories and emotions, which can help us feel calm, uplifted etc.

*Note, please when hoping to purchase essential oil wax melts, watch out for products that have a herb/oil name such as lavender or rose, for example. Unless, they clearly state they are made from essential oils the product will most likely be made from synthetic chemical aromas, offering none of the plant based wellbeing you may be hoping for.

All Bettyrose Creations wax melts are made with essential oils, soy wax and organic fruit peels and herbs. No added chemicals or synthetics are added.
